SEVASTOPOL, Jul 25 (PRIME) -- The Russian government will provide over 100 billion rubles for construction of the Tavrida highway in Crimea, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting on road construction on the peninsula on Monday.

“Not without problems and some discussions, we found the full volume of necessary funding for construction of the road at a meeting which I held last week. It is a significant sum exceeding 100 billion rubles. It is such a sum, on which an eye must be kept. And construction is scheduled for a period until 2020,” he said.

Earlier, Crimea’s head Sergei Aksyonov said investment in construction of the Tavrida highway, which is to run between the cities of Kerch and Sevastopol, is estimated at 128 billion rubles.
